Barbering

The program of Barbering is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, theory and hands-on fundamentals associated with the barber industry. The Program provides both a simulated and real environment that enables students to develop manipulative and technical skills. Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional barbering: history, disinfection, sanitation and safety; haircutting, shaving, mock chemical process, facial treatments, blade theory, related Sciences, such as: Anatomy and Physiology, Bacteriology and Electricity, and Business Principles and other required topics.

  •       Class Schedule: Monday – Thursday (12:30 pm-2:15 pm) and (4:30 pm-6:15 pm)
  •       Requirement Hours: 1500
  •       Students are required to purchase their own tools and supplies. A list of tools and estimated prices will be supplied during class.
  •       Material and Fees subject to change (this information will be distributed to students in the classroom).

    •     Fees:
                *Registration Fees-New Students $60.00; Returning Students $30.00

                *Graduation fee:  TBD

 

  •       Classroom Rules:

 

  •       Prompt Attendance Required
  •       Students must wear Barber jacket to class daily
  •       No sharing of supplies
  •       No Cellphone use while in class (must be on silent mode)
  •       No hats
  •       No headphones
  •       No eating or drinking in class
  •       No shorts
  •       No open-toe shoes
  •       Students must assist with clean-up
  •       Students cannot enter classroom under the influence of legal or illegal substances
  •       No Profanity (Cursing/Swearing)
